Toyota Prado 150

Braked Towing Capacity Upgrade

Australia's top selling 4WD gets an impressive braked towing capacity upgrade to 3100kg from 2500kg for pre 2018 models. There are two BTC upgrade kits available for the Prado 150, these are Stage 1 and Stage 2. The Lovells BTC upgrade is Australia's first federally approved BTC upgrade for the Prado 150.

Stage 1: Recommended for towing 2500kg-2700kg apparatus. The Stage 1 BTC Upgrade for the Toyota Prado 150 series is a cost effective solution. The Stage 1 kit includes a new heavy duty towbar assembly, dual height adjustable fabricated tongue and Lovells Haul Ace Hitch. The Stage 1 kit is rated to 3100kg braked towing capacity and the ball weight must not exceed 250kg. Note: due to the design of the tongue, the Stage 1 kit is not compatible with most weight distribution systems.

 

2018+ Prado 150 Series come from the factory with a BTC of 3000kg, therefore this kit best suits pre 2018 models.

IMPORTANT - A Lovells Braked Towing Capacity (BTC) upgrade can only be fitted to a vehicle in conjunction with a Lovells GVM upgrade. The BTC upgrade can be fitted to the following Lovells GVM upgrade products

STAGE 2

Toyota Landcruiser 200

Braked Towing Capacity Upgrade

Recommended for towing a 2700kg-3100kg towing apparatus. The Stage 2 BTC Upgrade for the Toyota Prado 150 series is the recommended kit for towing above 2700kg. The Stage 2 kit includes a new heavy duty towbar assembly, 600lb Weight Distribution Hitch sytem (WDH), a 95mm height adjustment drop shank, and a cast head assembly and Lovells Haul Ace Hitch. The Stage 2 kit is rated to 3100kg braked towing capacity and the ball weight must not exceed 270kg. The key advantage of the Stage 2 kit is the ability to setup your towing apparatus to be level when connected to the vehicle.
